Idaho's oldest rodeo takes place in July and on Friday the 18 of July I was so honored to be allowed to participate in the grand entry. I say honored because Jr. title holders are normally only allowed in the arena on Saturday during the afternoon performance. This was the third state I have been able to represent my title in and one of the most incredible grand entries around. The pre-rodeo event includes the performance of the Stampeders! This drill team enters the arena in the dark and perform with only colored lights on themselves and their mounts. Crazy, but absolutely wonderful. The picture does not do them justice but I thought I would try to share.
Also former Miss Rodeo Idaho and Miss Rodeo America Shelly Williams is spotlighted will carrying the American Flag. It takes your breath away. My dad traveled with us as he qualified to rope during the performance as well. He and his partner missed but having him there was payoff enough for me!
